Merano in summer: the best activities
Secret tips for sportspeople, gourmets, and nature lovers

Blooming alpine pastures and green palm trees, fresh mountain air and balmy evenings, quiet corners and sociable events - it is this unbeatable holiday mix that attracts our guests to the spa town year after year in summer.

Merano in summer is an eldorado for sports enthusiasts and connoisseurs, nature and city lovers, couples, friends and families. We have collected the best things to do in your Alps activity holidays this summer if you decide to visit us.

Step by step
Explore the most beautiful places in and around Merano at your leisure - you have plenty of opportunity to do so on the many promenades, walking paths, as well as on the “Waalwege” (hiking paths along the irrigation channels) in the Merano valley basin. Just a few metres away from Wosching Haus, you will find the ascent to the Tappeinerweg, one of the most beautiful high promenades in Europe. In the town itself, you can stroll along the Passer promenade lined with flowerbeds and the shady Gilf promenade. If you want to walk a little further on your summer holiday in Italy, we recommend the Lagundo Waalweg from Tel via Lagundo to Quarazze near Merano.
All paths are perfectly maintained and also suitable for families. Along the way, you will come across information boards, small market stalls, activity stations for young and old, art objects, viewpoints, benches to rest on and more!

Wave after wave
South Tyrolean summer temperatures call for cooling off! Fortunately, there are various bathing facilities in and near Merano that cater to every need.

In summer, a large thermal park for strolling, outdoor and indoor pools and a modern sauna area await you. Personalised treatments are offered in the spa area.
The outdoor pools in Lana and Scena next to Merano offer a more casual atmosphere. These facilities are particularly popular with families and offer their visitors carefree hours between the pool, sunbathing lawn, and restaurant.

Hut by hut
No Alps summer holiday would be complete without a trip to the mountains! The extensive Merano 2000 hiking area is located directly above the spa town. 100 kilometres of hiking trails and 7 peaks will delight all those who like to explore on foot or by bike. Modern cable cars (also in summer) and 16 inviting mountain restaurants provide every comfort. Adventurers enjoy paragliding or climbing, and the little ones love the Outdoor Kids Camp, a modern outdoor playground with slacklines, climbing wall, in-ground trampolines, wobble course and more. Open all year round and fun for all ages is the Alpin Bob, Italy's longest summer toboggan run, whose rapid descent is sure to get hearts racing and visitors shouting with joy. All you have to do is decide which path you want to take first...
